Tall, fine-boned, and thin, she has very pale skin. Her face is angular with prominent cheek bones and thin lips, and she has odd ice-blue eyes that seem brighter than normal. Her hair is long, fine, and an odd silver-white-blonde, which she usually wears in a simple braid down her back. She is most comfortable wearing black slacks/jeans and loose, silk blouses with the occasional vest. She wears no jewelry save for a blue star sapphire ring (her wedding ring) and two lockets, one gold, one silver. Inside the gold one is a black-and-white picture of her husband (killed) and of her lover (killed by old age); inside the silver one is a black-and-white picture of herself and her best friend, killed by an aging disease. Her voice is similar to Captain Janeway's from Voyager (or Titania from Gargoyles).

Her sword:

Polished steel gleams silver-gray on the razor-sharp edge of her longsword. It looks a lot like Need from Mercedes Lackey's novels, with the octagonal (elongated), double-pronged hilt. There is a blue star sapphire embedded in the pommel. It is the stone that connects it to the talisman. Her formal family name in Russian script is inscribed on the blade just above the hilt. This is a sword that she purchased on her own, as soon as she was rich enough to be able to afford her own custom-tailored sword. The purchasing records might be a weak link in her method of inheritance, but that's a long shot at best. This is sword is built to last (her previous swords having broken at inopportune times) and is a source of pride for her, being functional and beautiful. When she wields it, the light catches and glints off the facets in the metal.
