Doctor
Who is a British television series that sometimes (very rarely)
makes it across the lake the the states, shortly after which it is cancelled
and never seen on the air again. It's just one of those TV network things
that they kill a good thing before it starts. If I try to explain Doctor
Who via a web page, I'll end up confusing you. You don't know what the
show is, watch the series! There's usually at least ONE channel that carries
it. Yes, there are eight actors who portrayed the Doctor, each quite different
and unique. William Hartnell started it, Troughton followed, then Jon
Pertwee, then Tom Baker (for seven years!), then Peter Davison, then Colin
Baker (briefly), and finally Sylvester McCoy. These are the traditional
actors. Yes, there is an american movie. Yes, that movie features the
eight Doctor. Yes, that movie also mentions that the Doctor is half human.
Along
those actors' paths you'll find the greatest of the Doctor's enemies:
the daleks, the cybermen, the sontarans, the silurians, the Doctor's own
race the Gallifreians, the humans, as well as the flock of companions
that travelled with the Doctor. Then there's always the Tardis, breaking
down, going the wrong place, malfunctioning in odd ways, or just plain
making strange noises.
All
this and more is Doctor Who.
