Photography : Flora : Focus on Orchids
This orchid is another fine flower from the Botanic Garden in Washington DC. I'm not a fan of orchids. While they're pretty, I don't feel they are pretty enough to put up with the pampering required to keep them alive and blooming. This one was particularly vivid, and of course the Sun was shining through it, so I figured it was worth a few pictures. I know my camera does some funny things with reddish-magenta colors, and this flower is the prime example.
