Photography : Land & Sky: Supercell

The Southwest gets its rain all during a few months in the Summer (referred to as "monsoon season") in the most spectacular storms I've ever seen. This beauty loomed over the Organ mountains to the East like a hammer of the gods. I had planned on biiking to the grocery store on the way home, but on seeing this massive sunset-lit storm I dashed up to the I-25 overpass to take photos. I took photos for a good 45 minutes, and I couldn't stop staring at the storm. The next day a few friends joked that since White Sands Missile Range was in that direction, just over the mountains, perhaps it was a small mushroom cloud.
