Photography : Flora : Pecan Grove

Water flooded into a pecan farm forms a perfect mirror on a calm day. The soil around the Rio Grande is fertile, so many farmers grow pecans (which are, surprisingly, native to the area). These pecan goves are flood irrigated by water from the Rio Grande river. I like to bicycle past the groves because of the cool moist air from the evaporative cooling.
