Photography : Land & Sky: Human Nature

Just shy of 2 hours North of Las Cruces is the White Sands National Monument, whose glistening white gypsum dunes cover the largest area in the world. From May to October on nights of the full Moon, visitors are allowed to linger in the park to watch the Moon rise. I had the rare treat of visiting White Sands just after a storm and was amazed at the sight of standing water on the sand! I tried to catch the reflection of the setting Sun, but human nature intervened and gave me a more interesting photo.
