Photography : Birds : White Sands and Bright Birds

The fantastic folks at BirdTricks.com have free-flight trained their flock. I had the amazing opportunity to meet them and some of their birds at White Sands National Park while I was in New Mexico. It was a very windy day, so only the large birds could fly. Pictured above are Tusa (front) and Comet (back), two Camelot macaw brothers, taking a break while the blue-throated macaw, Jinx (blue parrot shown below), flies around the desert sands. Seeing these colorful birds flying free and strong over the white gypsum dunes was an awesome sight. I also got to meet the amazing Bandit (pink parrot shown below), an adorable galah with loads of personality.
